The concept of Banwa is that of an alternative space for those organic beings who would appreciate that which we have created here. Not only is Banwa a guest house and art cafe, offering its guests accomodation and chilling area, but a living ethos towards the exchange of cultural ideas and the growth of Filipino arts and crafts.

Our entire oasis has been designed to include installation art works, works of local and national artists, and last but not least the tribal crafts of the indigenous people of our island, Palawan. The artworks on show are incorporated into our main living area, the veranda, aswell as our private rooms and dormitory accomodation.

The effect as a whole creates a living/chilling area for guests, located in the community of Puerto Princessa, whilst not feeling like you are in the city. Our open veranda, located on the first floor, houses the majority of our arts and crafts, and is surrounded by our own tropical garden which disguises the outside world through its heavy tree tops which surround you as you sit above the garden - this is the softest landing spot for Puerto Princesa and Palawan.
